On Monday, the feast of the Holy Name of Mary, we began celebrating weekday Masses in Howlong 'ad orientem'. A big thank you to the weekday group for their acceptance of this change - ancient - but new. As a first comment I would say I was very intensely aware of myself as leading the congregation in prayer.

Celebrating Ad Orientum makes sense of the "Oratres Fratres..." Pray brehtren that my sacrifice and yours ... It is here that the priest and the people unite their offering and their sacrifice to the one oblation of Christ to the Father, facing the Father who accepts the sacrifice offered by priest who is 'In Persona Christi"

I'm almost tempted to make the trip to Howlong for this! (Although Google Maps tells me it would be a five and a half hour drive - might throw the day out a bit.)
